ZeusLine was founded in 2004 by Elliott Wood during his second
year as a brother in the Delta Chi fraternity. Elliott was asked
by his brothers to create an online word system to manage the chapter's
growing collection of disorganized tests, papers, and homework assignments.
Recognizing the benefits that an internal chapter website could
provide to help organize this area of the chapter and many others,
he set out to create what would become known as myDeltaChi.
Throughout spring and fall semesters 2004, the program eased many
aspects of chapter management from organizing spring formal to ordering
homecoming t-shirts. For the first time brothers could quickly find
each other's cell phone numbers, quickly look up event dates and
meeting times. E-mail lists no longer clogged inboxes, as messages
could be easily directed to smaller groups of directly affected
people - the exec board, social committee, or the Greek Week Tug
team. After a year of development on a system that became much more
than an online word database, it was suggested that such a system
could provide benefits to all fraternities and sororities. And so,
ZeusLine was born in December 2004.
ZeusLine is still entirely owned by Elliott, who is still persuing
his bachelor's degree so he'll have something to fall back on when
these random internet business ideas fail. He is studying Computer
Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and will likely
graduate in Spring 2007.
Elliott also employs a small team of contract designers to create
each chapter's individual site templates, and is looking into the
possibility of offering website development through these people.
